A bit slow over the next week for posting

The Vegas strip at night
Posting will be a bit slower and more infrequent over the next few days.

Here's a couple of pics to show you why ;)

Unfortunately, as expected, I won nothing in Las Vegas on the first pass-through, but will be giving it another try when I go back through on my way home.

I attended a friend's wedding in Laguna Beach on Saturday and figured I'd take a few extra days to catch-up on some personal interest stuff, which includes Las Vegas and Disneyland.

So, I'm in Anaheim, CA right now preparing for a long-overdue visit to Disneyland and the newer Disney California Adventure. I spent about 6 hours pre-cruising DL this afternoon to see what's changed in the 15 years since I was last here. Some of the attractions are as I remembered and others are horribly disappointing (the People Movers for one). The Pirates of the Carribean is closed right now also, so I'll be missing the superior California version of that classic ride.

I'll be posting lots more pics and write-ups when I get back, but for now, it's bed time.

Las Vegas Pinball Hall of Fame
Next time you're in Vegas, how about dropping a few quarters into a machine that won't pay-off in cash, but rather in fun? It seems that everything in Las Vegas wants some kind of money put into it, whether it's a slot machine, a valet's hand, or even the mega-buck restaurants that replaced the $2.95 all-you-can-eat buffets. Well, here's one more thing vying for your coins in Vegas: The Las Vegas Pinball Hall of Fame. The difference is that these machines pay-out in fun and nostalgia and compared to everything else, are pretty darned cheap to play! The Pinball Hall of...

What does this say about hotel security?
A recent stay at the venerable Tropicana reintroduced me to the "classic" side of Las Vegas. Well, I made it back from my trip to Las Vegas, Disneyland, and Laguna Beach. I'll have a more detailed trip report of Disneyland and DCA later, along with many, many photos (I need to figure-out how to present everything). Anyway, the first night away from home on my trip, I stayed in Las Vegas at the classic Tropicana hotel. For those who don't know, the Trop (as it's called by the hip crowd apparently) has been in Vegas for at least 20 years....

Construction photos from Disneyland’s Nemo submarine ride
These photos were taken while I was at Disneyland on 4/10/2006 and 4/11/2006. EDIT: More photos added on 4/17/2006. I figured that people might like to see what's happening with the old submarine lagoon in the transition to the Finding Nemo submarine ride at Disneyland. Part of my recent trip included a couple of days at Disneyland as I had not been in nearly 16 years. Naturally, the time that I'm there (the week before Easter) is super crowded with many of the queues being listed at 75-90 minute waits. Also, and this is a big bummer, the Pirates of...

Disneyland Main Street built with Legos
A neat combination of two fun things -- Disneyland's Main Street was reconstructed using Legos. This photo gallery has some interesting photos of a recreation of Disneyland's Main Street which was built using Lego pieces. It appears to be some kind of Lego building contest judging by the backgrounds in the photos. There is also a pretty good build of It's a Small World complete with the loading platform and other details. ...

Billionaires need budgets too!
Who would have thought that a multi-billionaire needs to watch his $1.35B credit limit? Ahh, the hassles of being a multi-billionaire... Apparently, Larry Ellison, the bad-boy CEO of Oracle, likes to spend even more than you'd tend to think. Of course, most people know about his lavish Asian-style mansion in the very expensive Silicon Valley town of Woodside, but that's just not enough. Larry has expensive tastes and seems to enjoy collecting million-dollar mansions elsewhere around the world, America's Cup boats, and even giving lavishly to charities. Oh yeah, that's on top of the $20M per year in "miscellaneous...

Hope you found the information center to give you a plan “B” so you can enjoy life out of the rat race we are in. Also, I hope plan “B” leads into FL where it would be much better than CA. Here’s to happiness!!!!!!!
